After a rather unsatisfying meal with tweeds and mj at Itacho Sushi at I_ON Orchard (the newest mall in Singapore and possibly the only exciting one among the recently opened ones), we marched down to the I_ON foodhall at basement 4 to engage in a bit of a favorite local pastime - queueing up for food! We joined the line for Gindaco takoyaki, which hails from Tokyo and supposedly one of the most famous in Japan. After a mere 10 minutes of waiting in line, we had a tray of 10 piping hot takoyaki in our hands. The takoyaki had a nicely browned crust wrapping around the warm semi liquid centre with a chewy (in a good way) chunk of octopus. Topped with a good amount of sauce, mayo and bonito flakes, it definitely redeemed the evening.
